In accordance with our Business Plan of September 2021, we have successfully completed the process of purchasing a technically sophisticated and agile pilot boat, which was ordered through public tender in December 2020.Boat model P11 was built in the Nasai Marine shipyard in Spain. The vessel was built for the specific purpose of pilotage. Nasai Marine shipyard is known for the production of pilot boats of different dimensions for European and North African ports, but mostly for domestic ports in Spain.
Technical data: Length: 11 m, Width: 3,32 m, Engine: 2x Volvo Penta D8, Engine power:2 x 261 KW
The relationship between its weight and length gives this boat extraordinary stability and security even in rough seas. The P11 is equipped with the advanced/most up to date navigational equipment. This purchase represents an essential fulfilment of the projected business goals for the provision of undisturbed and safe execution of port pilotage. With this sophisticated new pilot boat, the Port of Koper takes another step towards being one of the best equipped ports in the world.
The ceremonial lounching of the new pilot boat on 11th September 2021 was done by Vice President of the Supervisory Board, Mrs Andreja Cencelj. Event was noticed by media:
